The Quebec Municipal Geomatics Association organizes two seminars a year on various subjects of interest in geomatics. They can be grouped in three main sectors : technical, managing and communications including the internet.
The seminars are held in spring and autumn and each attracts about 150 to 200 participants. There is about 15 conferences presented in two rooms. An exhibition is presented in parallel to the seminars during the day. Companies and organisations have the opportunity to present their products and their services in geomatics.
An information bulletin called "AGMQ-INFO" is written twice a year and is distributed to all members of the Association and seminars' participants. A members' directory is published each year and sent to the members.
Every two years, the Quebec Municipal Geomatics Association offers the "Vectora" prize to underline an accomplishment in geomatics in Quebec. In fact, it consists of two rewards which highlight the efforts in the development in geomatics by a municipality, a MRC (regional municipality) or a municipal organization.
Every four years, the Association makes a survey on the use of geomatics among the municipalities and MRC (regional municipality) in Quebec. This survey assesses the degree and the speed of implantation of geomatics in Quebec and identifies the actual problems, opportunities and the future trends.
